The machines that built the towns around it.
The museum is not a backdrop. It is nearly ten thousand square feet of restored construction vehicles, farm and mining equipment, and the working tools that built the surrounding towns, gathered over decades by the Haines family and kept in running order.
Four distinct collections share the campus: the Construction and Transportation hall, a nationally recognized Mack Truck legacy, the Haines family and dirt-track racing collection, and a growing G-scale model railroad. Each one rewards a slow walk and a good look.
The museum is open by private appointment Tuesday through Saturday, and most weddings and events include a guided walk-through during the celebration. Groups and school visits are welcome by arrangement.
