The Event Helper is an online event insurance agency based in Grass Valley, California. It sells general liability policies for a single event: a wedding, a rehearsal dinner, a company party, a family reunion. The policy protects the host if a guest is hurt or the property is damaged during the celebration, and host liquor liability is included at no additional charge, so a bar at the reception is already accounted for.

We ask every couple booking the Welcome Center or Bank Barn for a certificate of insurance naming The Museum at Hoppenville as additional insured. With The Event Helper that step is built into the purchase. The venue you enter during checkout becomes the first certificate holder and additional insured, more can be added with one click, and the documents are available to download and are emailed to you as soon as payment goes through. Everything is paperless. Wedding cancellation coverage is offered as a separate policy and must be purchased at least seven days before the wedding.

Policies are placed with surplus lines carriers rated A or better by A.M. Best. The Event Helper states that its coverage fits 99.5 percent of venue requirements and refunds the premium in full if a venue rejects the policy terms in writing.
