Season
October maples, candlelight at four-thirty, the warmest reception of the year.
Fall at The Museum at Hoppenville means Pennsylvania at its clearest: cool mornings, maples turning along Campbell Road, and a sun that drops early enough to bring candlelight into your reception well before dinner ends. The Bank Barn suits the season best. Its sliding doors stay open for the breeze on a mild afternoon, and the adjacent lawn gives you a ceremony under open sky, with the barn's hand-hewn timber and string lights waiting for cocktail hour. Because the barn isn't climate-controlled, a genuinely cold or wet October evening calls for the Welcome Center instead, and that decision gets made together 24 to 48 hours out, at no extra cost either way. Either venue lets guests step outside for photos among the color and back in before the chill sets. Robert Ryan Catering & Design and Tosco's Catering both know how to time a fall menu around an early sunset, and your florist or photographer, house-recommended or your own, will have the whole 24-acre property to work with. If out-of-town family needs a place to land, the Cottage sleeps six to eight guests elsewhere on the property. Tours run Tuesday through Saturday, by appointment.
