Hand-hewn timber, candlelight, and the kind of room a great reception needs.
At The Museum at Hoppenville, a barn wedding centers on the Bank Barn, a restored mid-1800s post-and-beam structure that still carries its hand-hewn timber frame and sliding barn doors. A string-light ceiling handles most of the lighting after sunset, and Edison bulbs woven into greenery garlands along the beams carry that warmth down toward the tables. The barn seats up to 150 for dinner, and across a range of 60 to 150 guests you have room to dress the space: wood farm tables set with linen runners down the center, sliding doors open to the adjacent lawn where ceremonies typically take place before guests move inside for cocktails and reception. The doors stay open for the breeze rather than running on climate control, so the season shapes how the room feels, and if weather turns, an indoor rain plan is ready at no extra cost, with the call made together 24 to 48 hours out. Catering is exclusive to Robert Ryan Catering & Design or Tosco's Catering, and you're free to bring your own florist, rental company, and DJ or band to finish the room. Ground-floor access keeps load-in and guest flow simple through the day.
