The Bank Barn

Why Hoppenville
board & executive retreats live somewhere on the estate.
A board retreat here starts with the thing most conference hotels can't offer: distance from the office and no interruptions. The Bank Barn is the natural fit for a working session, its post-and-beam frame and string-light ceiling giving eight to forty executives a room that doesn't feel like a rented conference space, with hand-hewn timber overhead and sliding barn doors you can open to the adjacent lawn when the group needs a break outside. Ground-floor access means setup for a U-shape, boardroom, or dinner-round layout is straightforward, and the space is A/V ready for presentations or video calls, though the point of the day is usually to get everyone away from screens. The barn isn't climate-controlled, so plan around the season, and any indoor rain plan for outdoor breaks is arranged 24 to 48 hours ahead at no extra cost. For a retreat that runs into the evening or spans two days, The Cottage extends the trip: a restored 1850s schoolhouse with three bedrooms, a full kitchen, and a private porch, sleeping six to eight and bookable on its own or alongside the barn. Catering runs through Robert Ryan Catering & Design or Tosco's, both familiar with working meals and breaks between sessions. Tours run Tuesday through Saturday by appointment if you want to walk the barn and cottage together before booking.
