December: wreaths, candles, holiday market lighting, and a tree in the foyer.
December weddings at The Museum at Hoppenville trade long daylight for warmth indoors: the sun sets early, so most of the day happens by candlelight and chandelier rather than window light. We recommend the Welcome Center for this time of year. Its stone fireplace, wrought-iron chandeliers, and 20-foot ceilings already read like the season before you add a single decoration, and a tree in the foyer, wreaths, candles, and holiday market lighting carry the theme through the room. The polished concrete floor still gives you room for up to 220 guests, and on a clear, cold day the patio is there if you want a few minutes of air between the ceremony and the reception. The Bank Barn stays open for December bookings too, though its doors are built for a breeze rather than a hard freeze, so the Welcome Center suits a winter date better. Either room comes with the same indoor rain plan at no extra cost, decided together 24 to 48 hours out. Catering comes from Robert Ryan Catering & Design or Tosco's Catering, your other vendors are yours to choose, and the on-site construction and transportation museum can open for guests by arrangement if your group wants one more stop.
